Alvechurch
Alvechurch is a large village and civil parish in the district of Bromsgrove. The civil parish consisits of three other electoral wards, Bordesley, Hopwood and Rowney Green.
The village is close to the City of Birmingham and Redditch is its nearest Town.
Many of the bulidings in the Village Centre are lisited originating from the 15th Century.
The area is host to good transport links:-
By Road- The North/South A441 and East/West M42 (Junction 2)
BY Rail- The Redditch/Lichfield Cross-City Service
By Canal- The Worcester/Birmingham Canal
There are 2 Schools in the village, Crown Meadow First School and Alvechurch C of E Middle School, teaching children from Yrs 1 to 8.
The Marina is situated on the Worcester/Birmingham Canal and has approx 25 miles of lock free crusing available,There is a shop with in the Marina and also an award winning pub The Weighbridge, serving Real Ale and home cooked food, A great way to start and finish your holiday. The railway station is also adjacent to the marina with trains running every 30 minutes to Birmingham and Redditch.
